First off, I would like to apologize for not writing more on here in the past year. 2017 has been a very busy year for me and my family. I do however want to reiterate that I post daily on my Twitter handle @sammm1777  Please follow me there.

I also want to rededicate my writings on this blog since they have been a great spiritual and creative way for me to reflect on my life(past, present & future).

With that, I always want to give God the Glory for all he has done for me this year, as always and every year. That ultimately is the point of our lives…to give him the glory for everything and in everything, regardless.

Living in Houston, Texas has been a challenge in itself as we have experienced devastation in Hurricane Harvey this year. Thank you Lord that we were mostly spared. We had some roof leaking and still need to get that fixed, but no flooding in our home. I know that now still, many are rebuilding their lives and homes from that Hurricane on August 28th. I still pray for them.

December-It snowed here, keeping on that weather track. I couldn’t believe it! Like a lot of snow, like the whole ground and trees and roofs and everything were totally covered in snow! It was beautiful. We took the kids out early around 7am and had snow ball fights and made snowmen. It was glorious!

My wife and I also took a wonderful trip to Italy and Ireland. Both beautiful countries in their own right and we admired every minute of it.

We also enjoyed the Grand Canyon in a quick, fast and fun impromptu trip.

We hosted SB LI in Houston as well and I got to enjoy the NFL experience here back in February

Great Bible Study and Church time as well, thank you Grace Bible Church!

Can’t forget my Astros winning it all in the World Series against the Dodgers. This was my perfect WS match-up as both my favorite teams met in the fall classic!

My brother-in-law got married (Grant & Amber) in July and we went out to Albuquerque, NM for their wedding. I got my marriage license certificate to marry them. What a blessing it was and how glorious of a wedding it was. Praise God.

Finally got to see Metallica in concert as well and that was very cool! 30 yrs in the making for that!!

My kids both turned 5 and 2 respectively and I love them so much.

My wife and I celebrated 6 years of marriage and what a true blessing she has been to me and my life. Thank God for her everyday & for choosing the right woman to marry.

Thank you 2017, it has been a real great one. Now let’s celebrate this Christmas season basking in God’s beauty and thankful to him for saving us all through his son Jesus Christ!

Life and the Craziness

Hello All,

I apologize for not writing here in a long time. I love to write, but life has been busy and you know…

My activity on Twitter is busy, so please keep up with me that way @sammm1777

So, we are in a new Church called Grace Bible Church(GBC). LOVE IT!! They do something there that’s Amazing! It’s called “Reading the Bible and Studying it.” What a concept, eh? Slight humor here as it is so refreshing to study God’s Word in Church and not focus on what the Church is doing today which is ‘Topical’ study with a verse of scripture thrown in here and there to justify the Topic. I have been enthralled with learning and being a ‘sponge’ at GBC and enjoy the preaching as well by Pastor David Dunn. We are currently studying the Book of James. We are 6+ months into the study and we are just now getting into the 2nd Chapter of the book. Tons of scripture are being read every Sunday and they are cross referenced to Old Testament as well. Heather is enjoying it as too and learning way more than she ever has. I recently bought her a new Bible and I think she is getting more into it now that she has another Bible that she can use. I pray that continues. I know that I am growing by leaps and bounds and my Faith and knowledge is growing as well. Grateful!

Personal note, we are having our 2nd Child and we’re expecting in July. 25th is the date, but Sophie came early and we expect this one to come early as well. We are not finding out the sex of the baby and have come up with a boy and a girl’s name. So when the Lord brings this baby into the world, we will name him/her then. Praise God for this blessing and we are very excited!!

Heather lost her job from Baker Hughes recently with the downturn in Oil prices. 8 years with the company, recruiting her out of college and all and they let her go. Unbelievable. God is good-All the time and we have always tried to live within our means and because of this, we are able to handle this impact to our family. We look forward to the next job she gets with another company and know that God always has something better in store for us.

It has been a up and down year so far and I do pray that it will get better for all of us.

Blessings as always.

June 2011

This month has flown by! Can’t believe it! I have had fun though. Been pretty busy with the wedding details and my new job, but am not complaining at all.
I must apologize for not posting on here more. However, like I have previously stated – I enjoy Twitter a whole bunch and you can follow me there for my daily thoughts and views that sometimes come wildly to me. Sammm1777 is where u can Follow me.

I just got this iPad as a gift from my beautiful Heather. Thanks baby! I have to say, I opened it up 3 hours ago & haven’t put it down yet…I’m so addicted. I’m actually posting this using my wordpress app on my iPad, using a digital keyboard no less. Awesome!!!

So, I will leave this post for now and with it I say that I’m a very happy man right now in my life and can never thank God enough for everything!!!

Many Blessings upon you and yours.

odds and ends

I am wanting to write more on my blog, but have had what seems to be writers block. LOL!  Not sure why, just have.

I am attributing my ‘writers block’ from the fact that I have enjoyed another outlet to post my thoughts and views: TWITTER!(FYI: my twitter account is: sammm1777 IF you wanted to follow me?!?!  Shocking name huh?)

I love me some twitter!!  Twitter has helped me get off my chest things quickly and without a lot of words that I need to elaborate on.  With that, it’s been fun, but obviously when I need to elaborate, I have found my trusty blog to head back to. 😀

Posting in my blog in the past seems to be on my mind as well.  What I mean is, I don’t want to address something I have addressed already and I can’t always find out quickly or remember If I had posted about these items/topics already.  I am getting old in this regard I guess. (Laughing/poking jab at myself)

I guess like the Bible, as I read it more, I find different thoughts to address in every single verse that means something different to me today than it did in the past.  So, I guess I can keep posting and if I post on the same verse or topic, I’m sure it will have variances in what I am saying than when I did in the past. PHEW!!!!

Writing this helps me understand this logic that is in my brain and is more for me to get out of this funk of NOT writing than anything.  OK, I feel better.

Have a blessed day!

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ – 1 Corinthians 1:3

I must speak the truth…Twitter has satiated my appetite from blogging more.  The joys of blogging are still there and when I have much to discuss and talk about, of course I will blog about it.  But my small, short not worth blogging ideas and thoughts are being posted on my Twitter account. So I must say, thanks Twitter for helping that part of my life out.  There are times when I wish I could post more than a 140 characters at a time(Twitter’s posting limit) and that’s when I will jaunt to my pc and blog.  Anyway, happy blogging and Twittering!

For those of you twittering out there.  I just read a real good and interesting article about how much better the application is using other platforms than the meager(they’re words) website.  Check it out here and continue to tweet!
