Baby update

We are 15 weeks in this week. We had our every 4-5 week check-up today and all is well.  This is our 2nd time to meet with Dr.Villalobos. She is very sweet and kind and patient with us and extremely understanding and communicative.  We are both like deer in headlights sometimes I think, and she is the best Doctor any first time parents could have.

We had the Down-syndrome test already and came back negative, thank GOD!  I guess we have some spinabifida(something or other) test next.  I’m sure there will be some other test after that.  I think we are both trying to just take this day by day, week by week and not try to take too much in.  For me at least, I’m just enjoying this time we are at and in and enjoying the little new updates and growth patterns that our baby Sharif is having so far.

We are not going to find out what it is and will wait for the surprise to hit us upon delivery.

We have gotten down to a couple of names for the boy and girl, whichever God blesses us with and as long as our baby is born healthy, that’s all that matters to us.

It’s funny how initially I just wanted a boy! But, upon further consideration, it’s more important that our baby is healthy! Wisdom does come with age! 🙂

We are just so excited and grateful for what God is doing in our lives through this time and thankful for wonderful friends and family that are being so supportive and excited for us too.

June 2011

This month has flown by! Can’t believe it! I have had fun though. Been pretty busy with the wedding details and my new job, but am not complaining at all.
I must apologize for not posting on here more. However, like I have previously stated – I enjoy Twitter a whole bunch and you can follow me there for my daily thoughts and views that sometimes come wildly to me. Sammm1777 is where u can Follow me.

I just got this iPad as a gift from my beautiful Heather. Thanks baby! I have to say, I opened it up 3 hours ago & haven’t put it down yet…I’m so addicted. I’m actually posting this using my wordpress app on my iPad, using a digital keyboard no less. Awesome!!!

So, I will leave this post for now and with it I say that I’m a very happy man right now in my life and can never thank God enough for everything!!!

Many Blessings upon you and yours.

My new job

I had a great week as I started working at my job. I’m so excited to be working again. I can’t believe it’s been almost 5 months that I was out of a job. Going through it seemed to last forever, but now that I’m back working, weirdly enough, it seems like the time flew by. I don’t understand that phenomena.

Looking for a job and going through this hard time is difficult, I know. I am praying for all of you who are looking for a job daily. Keep in mind that God has a plan for you and that He will never leave nor forsake you(us).

God Provides and I want to encourage you today to stay positive and focused!

Ask Him to reveal things in your life that need to be addressed that could be hindering you from finding that job today as well.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God – Philippians 4:6

Job search/situation

Things are really starting to break for me, Thank God. I had my 2nd interview in as many months recently with a real good company and got a call for another position today too. I’m really thankful and happy that things are getting better. I feel like I should have a job real soon, Lord willing. I pray and hope so.

I reminded myself somethin’ that I learned in BJM 2 weeks ago.  It was a short prayer and it goes like this, “Lord, may they see my worth and value. Amen.”

I hope that those of you that are with me in this job search find a job soon. I’m praying for all of you.

May financial blessings abound to you and your family!

My soul waiteth for the Lord – Psalm 130:6

I am thankful for where I am today because of God Almighty and His loving son, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, He sent to us.

Thank you Father for where you have put me in my life, from where you have brought me from and for where I am going.  I am happy and thankful for you and for what you have blessed me with and have given me.

ALL honor and praise and glory be to your Holy name Abba Father. Amen!

Unshakable

“25See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven? 26At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.”[e] 27The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain28Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29for our “God is a consuming fire.”  Hebrews 12:25-28

This is the ‘word’ that God has given me for this year.  To me it means that God is with me always and that His Kingdom and His word stands forever, even when the things around you seem to fall apart or do fall apart.  It also means that God wants everything we are and have and wants us to worship Him as our number 1 focus in our lives and not make Him any less than that.  To put away our idols and keep in mind what is truly important, and that is not what is seen and temporary or what the world has to offer, but eternal values and truths and what really matters and that is building our homes/mansions in Heaven.  Making a difference here on earth, to share and give and Love.

Thank you Father for your word and may we be encouraged by you every day from what you tell us through your words.  In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Suicide

Not sure about why this happens to be an answer for anyone

It saddens me when I hear about people committing suicide.  I think that it should never be an option.  There is always a brighter day just around the corner from the dark day you have been going through.

I know that we all know someone who has committed suicide and that is real sad.

I want to address the fact that there are so many people alive that want to LIVE that have horrible diseases like Cancer, Leukemia, AIDS, etc.  These folks are fighting to LIVE not wanting to die or commit suicide.  It makes me think of my ex-wife who had breast cancer and fought to live and battled cancer only to recover fully, thank God.  She wanted to live and suicide wasn’t an option.  So we did something about it.  Not giving in!!!

There are also suicide bombers.  These people really take the cake in my sadness of heart.  I hope that they realize this is a horrific way of ending their lives and causing so much pain, hurt and anger to those whom they have murdered and SHAME to their families.

I hear about people committing suicide in the Army.  I think I’m ignorant in why people do that there in the Army, I’m sure it’s hard, but I reference back to my first sentence.

Holidays are coming up as well and I know that this is always a hard time for lots of folks, especially those who have lost loved ones recently or during this time of the year.  This will be my first Holiday season single in over 10+ years and it’s hard for me too.  If you have been divorced ever, you know it’s like losing a loved one.  The relationship is dead and gone and loss is there.  I will make it through however as my focus is not going to be on self, but on Him who created me.

This Scripture passage(1 John 5:1-12) I think addresses and comforts the believer.  I know it does me.  I know that He has overcome the world and so will we!  Amen!

1Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. 2This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. 3This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, 4for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.  6This is the one who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. 7For there are three that testify: 8the[a] Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. 9We accept man’s testimony, but God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son. 10Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about his Son. 11And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

I received a note once on a piece of paper that said, “You can’t appreciate the Sunshine, until you have walked through the darkness”   This statement is reality for me and in my life!  Life isn’t fair or perfect(this was never promised to us), but when we have Jesus, we have so much to be thankful for and so much work to do on earth and so much to give.  May this be your thoughts as you focus with me this holiday season, not to focus on self but to look up and around you and be thankful and grateful for so much we have been given.

Blessings!

Watch

“Watch and Pray”  Mark 13:33

God does things in and around us everyday, do you see them?  Are you thankful for them?

Keep your eyes open and aware.

Let us be always thankful IN every circumstance, let’s watch and pray and see what He is up to in our lives and in the lives of others around us.

Blessings!
