Good News

I wanted to encourage you in your walk today. Regardless if things are going great or you are struggling, know that God is there with you.  For me, I was totally encouraged by this paragraph below that I read from a devo today that just gave me such a smile and Joy in my spirit that I had to share it.

experience

What I want to do First is read this book A Cloud of Witnesses. Second thing I want to do is sing praises to God knowing that He is always right by my side in the good and the bad…ALL the time!

For us as Christians, I think it gets hard some times when you can’t see God physically or as the paragraph above notes “in life’s darkest hours” we don’t think he’s there.  But as scripture and our forefathers that have gone before us know, we need to trust on God’s promises for our lives and not solely on our experiences.

I won’t give pass to our experiences and how important those are in our daily walk with Christ. However, if you are relying solely on them or even feelings, well that’s a whole other problem that we must overcome as believers and furthermore trust God’s revealed Word in the Bible over them.

With that I want to encourage you to keep reading God’s word and what he says to us as believers. Know that we do have such a great cloud of witnesses that have gone before us that have paved the way for us to be here in such a time as this.

Glory be to God.

Amen.

day of completion?

If there are so many promises in the Bible and you believe them, do you believe this one, “6being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 1:6

My interpretation of this is that God isn’t finished with me yet.  That He has a lot to do in me until Jesus returns or I leave this earth.  That there is so much good I have left to do and that His work in me is still be perfected and completed in me.  That He’s using me to accomplish His will here on earth.  The question then I have is…what am I doing right now for His kingdom come, His will be done?  Not what I did yesterday or might do tomorrow, but right now.

Let’s plan on making a difference for His kingdom here on earth this year, today, now… not making MY kingdom here on earth.  That’s a hard one, because I’m concerned about building financial security, about my future and yet this is all passing right?  Then I should be more concerned about His will and not so much mine, because He promises that He will take care of me!  Do I trust that?  Do you?  and yes I do!

The other aspect of this scripture verse is Him making me more of a disciple as well and not just wanting me to do things for His kingdom, but doing it for the ‘right’ reasons and the motivation is with a pure heart!

Blessings!

promises

There are 32,000 promises in the Bible.  Let’s remember what He says to us in that there are many things offered to us by Him, yet we forsake it.  Let’s not do that, but choose the right path that He wants for us.
