Patience & Faith

Let me tell you about a journey I had to take
I had to go around the world to learn about patience & faith
God took the time to condition me to open my heart and mind
Through so many mishaps God’s grace always made sure I was fine
Rushed things and always tried to live by my own rules
Until one day I realized your laws are truly precious jewels
My patience grew because I learned to trust in you
Now I know to wait on the Lord and always give Him His due
When I started, my faith was weak as tap water
Through loving Christ, I learned I could always go farther
Took all my faults and problems and laid them at your feet
Praying to you everyday that those same mistakes I never repeat
Couldn’t ask for anymore mercy, kindness and grace
Long for the day you welcome me into heaven and I see your face
Just wanted to openly announce that I’m officially on your team
My face, heart and soul is lit up like a light beam
Thank you for not taking my life when it seemed I couldn’t wait
I’m blessed that Jesus taught me Patience & Faith

Praise God

While there is breath in your lungs, Praise Him everyday.  Time flies by so fast.  I realize that more and more everyday.  My memory gets longer and not all the days are so vivid like they once were when my memory was shorter.

It’s funny to look back at old pictures and be blown away at what you look like now compared to then.

Life is fun. I try to enjoy it as much as possible.  But for me, life without God is no life at all.  He is my everything first and foremost!

I went to a fun football game yesterday between the Texans and Colts as this was the first game of the 2010 season and my Texans won 34-24. Great game.  Heather, Kevin, Heather and myself all went. Good times spending it with family too!

My days at work are long currently. I’m going through a reorg here at work and it really sucks! Good thing is I have a few short weeks before this is all over and I can get back to doing my old job before I started this one which is IT Analyst(software/hardware support)  My job isn’t guaranteed, but my faith and hope are in God and I trust that as He has taken care of me all my life so far, He will continue to do so through this time.

The scripture that comes to mind from all this rambling is:

1 Thessalonians 5:17 – “Be thankful in all circumstances”   Not necessarily FOR the circumstances but in them.

GOD LOVES YOU!

WallBuilders

You must check out this website about our forefathers.  We as Americans, need to get back to the basics and remember why and what our forefathers did when they began this great Nation of ours.  Their Christian beliefs and faith guided them to create and found our country, including the many documents that were associated with the creation of the great U.S.A.

also check out this area of the website too.  Read what they wrote.  Amazing!!

Friends

You shall find me, when you shall search me with all your heart – Jeremiah 29:13

I had lunch with a brother in Christ today. It was real nice, because we spoke of God and faith and Emmaus and wonderful times we have been experiencing.  He told me how he went to Church recently and experienced a wonderful Saturday Service.  As he shared this with me I was inspired by his story and made me want to go to Church everyday.  It’s just wonderful to be with people who love the Lord and want to spend time with him and focus on things in life that really matter like Jesus, Faith and Fellowship.

I also wanted to share about a buddy of mine that’s headed to Iraq today.  His name is Tony and I wanted to ask for your prayers for him.  It will only be a short trip of 4 months for him, but it does concern me as he will be stationed in Baghdad.  And even though it’s in a secure zone, it’s still dangerous.  I know for myself, as I pondered the thought of leaving for a 4 month trip to Iraq, that I really don’t think I would do it.  So, just asking for prayers for him and that he has a quick return back from there as well and stays safe.  We had a nice dinner with him and friends at Pei-Wei and enjoyed wonderful fellowship. I hated to see him leave, but hope that this will be a blessing for him.

Father, thank for wonderful people that you have put into my life to bless me.  May I return in some sort of way those same blessings back to them and others as well.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

My view

I would rather die knowing Christ as my Lord & Savior than not to believe in anything.  I am compelled to believe in what Jesus did here on earth.  I understand religion gets in the way of a lot of things in this world, but to simplify EVERYTHING to a minute detail, I would follow Christ to death than to not follow anything at all.  Jesus did everything good, right and perfect.  How can you not be compelled to follow Him.  How can you not believe in what he said and did.  I’m not asking you to believe in what I’m saying.  I’m asking you to ‘taste and see that He is good!’

Man has gotten the equation wrong, History has proven that.  But, let’s not make excuses for ourselves as to why we don’t want to follow or be a Christian.  Do not look unto man as an answer to or for guidance.  Read The Gospels in the Bible to find out more about this man named Jesus.  He is our author and perfecter of our faith.  Learn about who he is in Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.  These are the Gospels and they will show you the way.  For Jesus is the Way and the Truth and the Life.  The Resurrection!  Amen and Amen!

time flies

18,000 hits, 350 posts and I figure I’m doing well to be on this path of blogging.  I can’t believe how time flies when your blogging, it seems like just yesterday that I started doing this.  I have talked about my life and personal things I have been dealing with and about my faith in Jesus.

What’s important to me is to know that my life is not so interesting as to keep my audience captivated by my life as much as it is to speak about my faith and how more important that is than my life.  My life is short, but GOD and faith are everlasting.  I hope that you have been blessed in some way by what I have posted and I appreciate all your words of encouragement and your thoughts and views on my different posts as well.

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O God.

where’s the ark of the covenant?

I know there are many questions that surround different artifacts from the Old Testament like Noah’s Ark and the Ark of The Covenant in regards to their locations and whereabouts today.  I bring this up because I read an article about a man from North Carolina(I think) deciding to head out and look for Noah’s Ark somewhere in Turkey or Eastern Europe.  I then also thought about where the Ark of The Covenant is today as well, since I was thinking about things that haven’t been found from the OT.

Here are my thoughts on this.  I don’t think Noah’s Ark will be found for this reason.  Noah and his family needed shelter and needed to build a new home, etc.  I think he used the wood from the Ark for materials.  Plain and simple.  Thus, the Ark won’t be found because it doesn’t exist anymore today.

Next, the Ark of The Covenant, it isn’t here on earth anymore…period!  Revelation 11:19a states this “Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant.”   So, the Ark of The Covenant is no longer here on earth but in Heaven, where it should be!

There are matters of Faith that we need to trust what scripture says rather than try to prove for factual evidence all the time, things that are written in scripture.  I know it’s a fun endeavor to search for these things, but I don’t think it’s something that is needed or required to build a strong, healthy faith.  Faith is being sure of what we hope for, certain of what we do NOT see.

Are there other items in scripture that you think should still be around today that need/should be found, share them with me and see if we can’t come up with an answer?

Hope

I was searching under my posts for the key word HOPE and didn’t find anything.  I can’t believe I haven’t posted anything on the subject.  The first thing I want to post on the subject is THE HOPE video.  It’s all online and is something that everyone should watch, it’s powerful.

Secondly, I wanted to talk about one of my favorite scriptures on the topic.  The scripture is “Faith is being sure of what we HOPE for, certain of what we do not see”  Hebrews 11:1

I really like that verse, because it is so profound and is the answer fundamental to our Faith as Christian believers.

I hope you have a blessed day!

the power of prayer

This is a really funny joke, that can be indicative of some churches today, sadly:

In a small Texas town, (Mt. Vernon) Drummond’s bar began construction on a new building to increase their business.

With petitions and prayers, the local Baptist church started a campaign to block the bar from opening .

Work progressed right up until the week before opening, when lightning struck the bar and it burned to the ground.

The church folks were rather smug in their outlook after that, until the bar owner sued the church on the grounds that the church was ultimately responsible for the demise of his building, either through direct or indirect actions or means.

The church vehemently denied all responsibility or any connection to the building’s demise in its reply to the court.

As the case made its way into court, the judge looked over the paperwork.

At the hearing he commented, ‘I don’t know how I’m going to decide this, but as it appears from the paperwork,

we have a bar owner who believes in the power of prayer, and an entire church congregation that does not.

Have a Wonderful Day!
