The ‘real’ Fall quickly approaching

Walking out of my door headed to work today, was an unexpected weather change.  I noticed a very nice, cool & crisp morning that greeted me.  Very unexpected this early in the Fall for Houston.  Although I was happy to feel a nice change in weather, I look back upon this past Summer with wonderful memories of fun and warmth in the sun.

May God Bless this Fall for all of us, is my prayer!

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith – Hebrews 10:22

SNOW

Last night, December 10th, 2008, it snowed in Houston, Texas.   Wow!  It hasn’t snowed here in 4 years and what we consider ‘snow’ is a laughing stock for those in the North and East Coasts.  It was real cold and the white all over cars and shrubbery was really neat to look at.  We don’t see this type of weather here in H-town too often, so when we do, it’s something special.  Stay warm!

Here’s a friend’s picture of a ‘miniature snowman’

another hurricane

WOW, there is another Hurricane named IKE on it’s way in the Gulf towards us here in Tejas.  I can’t believe it!  This is like the 3rd one this season headed our way, but this one seems to be the real deal, whereas the last couple have been minor.  I got lots of plans for this weekend, how dare IKE try to ruin my plans!  🙂

Please pray that this Hurricane dissipates and goes away miraculously.  I really am a bit concerned that this one isn’t going to be as nice.  If it doesn’t go away(please, please) then let’s pray that it doesn’t become a Category 4 or 5, but a much smaller one.

Keep up those prayers y’all, because it looks like we’re going to need them here in the south.

Edouard

We just survived a Tropical Storm named Edouard.  And yes your right, what’s up with that weird name?  I was searching for the exact spelling and couldn’t find it until I found it on another website for the exact spelling.  Any-who, we had the day off yesterday from work and that ROCKED!  It was nice sleeping in and chilling all day, and we got mostly a bunch of rain and no real damage in the city nor any flooding from what I could tell.  Thank God it was smooth and not a huge Hurricane.  We needed the rain too as the meteorologist stated that we were 10″ below our normal rain amount for the year and I’m sure we are close to caught up now.  Let’s hope this is the worst of it for year.

weather

I live in Houston, TX now and this weather is funky-crazy!  I came home from a party Saturday night and it was 77 degrees inside my home!!!  What in the world is going on?  It’s the middle of December and it’s 77 degrees and I had to turn on the air conditioner for Pete’s sake!!!  This is wild.  I couldn’t believe it.  I had to just post this and put this out there.  One day we have the heater on and the next it’s the a/c unit on.  Out weather is getting crazier every year.  I’m dreaming of Christmas right now, but it sure feels like SUMMER, HELLO!!!
