Summer 2013

Well school begins this coming Monday. Which marks the end of the summer for students whereas those who have jobs keep working all summer like ME. All good. It has been an enjoyable one.  Highlights below:

we have enjoyed going to see the Houston Astros this season. We purchased a mini season package and went to about 2 games a month. That has been fun.

We have enjoyed our pool – that is the community pool – but it seems like we’re the only ones that use it mostly. We have enjoyed heather and I playing tennis in the evening time. Shes not much of a player (self admitted) but is getting better every time we play.

We visited my Cali family this past weekend. It was good to see everyone. We stayed at the Huntington Beach Waterfront Hotel and that was real nice. It was right across the street from the beach and I loved it. We had 2 great days out there and even got to see Heathers cousin Bobby and his girlfriend Kaitlyn who came down from LA.

We also took a trip to Gulf Breeze,Fl to see Bradford for the 4th this summer. It was a nice visit, but instead of making it to the beach like we planned, it rained the whole weekend. It was still nice though.

We have a big Bday bash planned for heather and myself this October and excited about that. We also are going to Hawaii to celebrate. Can’t wait!!!!!

until next time. Blessings!!

I guess what’s been hitting me lately is this:

We can read the Bible(God’s revealed Word to us) and take it in. We can go to Church and listen to the Pastor preach. We can even go to Sunday School class and hear the teacher give us a lesson. BUT, if we do all these things and don’t take it into our everyday lives and practice it and DO IT, then what’s the use? What’s the point?

James tells us that Faith without works is dead, just like works without Faith is dead. So, if your living your life ho-humming through it all – remember this: TOMORROW IS NOT PROMISED! What does that mean? It means you can be called out of this world at any time and when that happens will you be prepared spiritually to meet your maker? Because it doesn’t matter how old or young you are, this life is temporary and you will be called to give an account for all that you have done, learned and know. Ignorance by the way, is not an excuse when you bow before the Almighty.

So DO IT! Do what God’s word tells you to do. Love!! Share the good news about Jesus! Live a life worthy! Smile more and make a difference. Be a Blessing! Avoid being cynical! Seize the day.

Maundy Thursday

Today is Maundy Thursday. The definition of ‘Maundy’ is Mandate. That is exactly what Jesus gave us, a new Mandate and that was to LOVE one another(John 13:34). Really is easier said than done though isn’t it? Everyday people bug us, hurt us, make us mad and yet we are to LOVE, irregardless. So hard to do. Yet we must still strive for that perfection, which will never happen until we pass from this earth, but to strive nonetheless is our goal and call as Christians.

My daughter Sophie is now 8 months old and such a HUGE JOY she is to me and my loving wife. We are so blessed to have such a happy baby girl. She is a pure joy and I love spending as much time as I possibly can with her. She is growing up so fast–Yes all the stories people say about that are true, however I have enjoyed each and every step with her and will remember these times and moments for the rest of my life and will not forget, but cherish!

Heather and I are about to make another huge step in purchasing a new home. We are set to close next friday and we’re so excited about it. So much work to do still, but such an exciting time we are in. Grateful for God’s richest blessings in our lives. I attribute each and every blessing to my Father who art in Heaven and give Him thanks for everything.

To God be the glory forever and ever, Amen.

2012 in review

The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

4,329 films were submitted to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. This blog had 30,000 views in 2012. If each view were a film, this blog would power 7 Film Festivals

This has been a really good month. A crazy one with being busy for work and traveling to Villahermosa, MX for 2 weeks, just after getting back from my honeymoon, but all good.

My birthday was fun and I celebrated my 1 month anniversary of being married on my birthday too – at Fogo De Chao- a great Brazilian Churrascuria!!

I look forward to the month of November and celebrating with my in-laws Thanksgiving too.

Hope your life is going well and that you continue to look to God for your daily sustainment!

So, I will leave this post for now and with it I say that I’m a very happy man right now in my life and can never thank God enough for everything!!!

Many Blessings upon you and yours.

Just got back from a fabulous quick weekend trip to Chicago for Labor Day with my beautiful girlfriend Heather. We had a great trip in Chicago. The people were very friendly and the weather was great(High 70’s all weekend).

We went to the Museum of Science & Industry, Museum of Natural Art, Shedd Aquarium, Jazz Festival@Millenium Park, and best of all a Cubs game at Wrigley Field(the lost unfortunately, but still fun nonetheless)

Oh how I love vacations!!

Redeeming the Time

Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.  Ephesians 5:15-16

I read ‘Exerpiencing GOD, day-by-day’ written by the Blackaby brothers.  The book is a devotional and a journal to write in(of course I use this as my online journal).  The heading for this reading was ‘Redeeming the Time.’

The point of the reading was to express how important our time is.  Not to let time just fall away from us daily.  But instead, make the most of every opportunity of every day and hour and minute.  The opportunity is of course to praise God all the time and to bless others when the opportunities arise.  Not to be selfish with our time, but to spend it wisely.  What are you doing with your time?

Blessed Father, help us to use our limited time we have here on earth wisely.  In Jesus name.  Amen.
