Men’s Walk 66 – April 12-15 Women’s Walk 67 – April 19-22 Men’s Walk 68 – July 26-29 Women’s Walk 69 – August 2-5 Men’s Walk 70 – Sept 27-30 Women’s Walk 71 – October 4-7

If you live in the Houston area, these are your walk dates.  You can also check out the Emmaus website for more information in regards to sponsorship and other activities in our community or your community where you live as well.

“Now on that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus.  While they were talking and discussing, Jesus himself came near and went with them…their eyes were opened, and they recognized him; and he vanished from their sight.  They said to each other, ‘Were not our hearts burning within us while he was talking to us on the road, while he was opening the scriptures to us?’ ”
The Gospel of Luke 24:13, 15, 31-32

Emmaus time again

I am preparing my talk on Priorities right now and am very excited about giving it.  It’s the First talk on an Emmaus weekend and really sets the tone for the rest of the 14 talks still to come.  There is no talk song on this one either, which I forgot about for some reason or another.

Anyway, the walk is at the end of July this year and I’m really excited about serving again as well.  I will be ALD for the first time on an Emmaus Walk and am excited about that too.

I will share more about this walk as I have more details to contribute, but if not, then I will definitely share my Walk #62 experience with you afterwards.

4th Day

In Emmaus, there is a term after you have completed your spiritual weekend.  It’s called YOUR 4th Day.  It’s everyday after you 3 day weekend.  You can never be a pilgrim again after you have gone on your Emmaus Walk because of such the unique journey that it is for you.  You can relive it by serving time and time again, like I do!!  But, you only get to be a pilgrim once.

What’s important about your 4th day(the rest of your life) is what you do with it.  For many, the weekend is a mountaintop experience.  For others not so much.  Still others, it’s somewhere in between.  All these reactions are perfectly fine.  What really matters is using the skills and knowledge of the weekend, scripture, experiences and your focus on Christ to guide you in your relationships and future endeavors.

They say it’s in the valleys that all the work is done and that’s true, but experiencing mountain-tops is a joyful and beautiful thing.  We all want to stay there, but there is work to do for the Lord.  We must get dirty and wet in order to get the Good News of the Gospel out to the world in the valleys.

Let’s enjoy the mountaintops when they come, but never lose sight of them and HIM in the valleys.

Another Emmaus Weekend…

What an Awesome weekend for Men’s Walk #56 at the Kaiserhoff Retreat Center in Tomball, TX.  I was truly blessed to be able to serve as the Head Agape Servant on this past weekend’s walk.  Serving and giving as a personal sacrifice of my time is a true pleasure for me.  I always enjoy giving back and this weekend was no exception, which is the reason why I do it.

The testimonies from the men on Sunday were full of joy and love and tears were shed by all including myself.  I just love to hear the testimonies and I find that they are probably my favorite part of the weekend.  Hearing the testimonies and knowing that they’re experience was full makes it all worth it.

Exciting things are happening in the Houston area Emmaus Community.  We are having a Women’s Walk #55 this weekend and a Men’s Walk #56 the weekend after.  I am sponsoring a wonderful person this weekend and I am working the men’s walk the following weekend.  I’m very excited about what Emmaus has done for me and what it will do for all the new pilgrims that go on these walk weekends.  May the LORD bless each and every one of you in every way!

You can check out the new Pilgirm’s Journey newsletter out for this month and other great information at the Houston website.

My nephew Jordan is serving, on a Chrysalis Flourney this weekend.  He went on his Flight last summer and is giving back by serving this year.  I’m really happy and excited for him.  I know how Awesome it is to serve and give back what you have been blessed with and by.  I pray this weekend goes well for the caterpillars and the team as well.

emmaus walk #51 continued

I served as Head Chapel this past weekend and it was completely fulfilling!  I enjoyed every moment of it.  This was the first time I served in this capacity, as I have served in every other capacity outside of this one.  I wasn’t sure how I would like it, since I’m such a people person and so outgoing, I thought being in the chapel praying all weekend would sure be boring, but that wasn’t the case at all.  It was fantabulous!  I really saw the power of prayer at work this weekend.  I saught personal answers to questions I had and needed to get answered and did.  I saw a brother get sick on Friday evening and then I prayed and he got better in a matter of hours, when he almost couldn’t go on.  I saw the look on the Pilgrim’s faces at closing and knew that all the prayer and hard work had truly paid off by everyone.  I met some cool brothers in Christ that I hope to build stronger relationships and foundations with as well.

Glory to God!

Walk #51

Here I come!!!!!!   Heading out today to begin a Men’s Walk #51 at Kaiserhoff today.  I’m excited and pumped!  I will be in the Chapel praying all weekend as Head Chapel.  First time I’m doing this and I am finding that this is where I need to be this weekend, on my hands and knees praying.  What better time to spend a weekend than to be praying to God and thanking Him for all things and interceding for others.

I’ll write more next week about how the weekend went.  Please keep this weekend in your prayers also, for the Team and Pilgrims.
