My Engagement to Heather

I finally asked the question “Will you marry me Heather?” and then there was a long pause with lots of crying, whilst I was on my knees I asked her “Your supposed to say YES…” and she said “OH Yeah, of course YES, YES!”  I then stood up after all that and we hugged for a long time as we both shed tears of joy.

The date came on Christmas Eve 2010 following the 5:30 service.  Godfrey, our Pastor, had said “Let your light shine in the darkness and I felt like that was my affirmation from God saying to me – do it and I did.  As many times as I have heard that statement at Church before, this time it hit me as if God was saying “make this formal and propose now”  It was definitely a God moment for me too.

I am very happy that my life is going forward and that I have been blessed with love again.  This time I hope, pray & believe that this beautiful individual in the form of Heather Allison, is my true love and wife to be.

As much as I have learned from my first marriage and don’t regret the experience from it, I am pleased to know that she wasn’t my true love and that Heather really is!  I’m so happy about that!!

God makes all things work out for the good, for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose – Hebrews 8:28 (Sam paraphrasing)

November 1st, 2010

I can’t believe it’s almost the end of the year and the weather is in the 80’s still…and I’m stuck wondering where the Fall weather is?

I’m still looking for a job and have yet to go on an interview, but I’m completely hopeful and know that something will turn up soon.  It all takes time and it’s definitely in His time for sure!

Foundry had the annual Fall Festival yesterday and Heather and I helped out with the ‘bean bag toss’  That was fun and thinking about it, this is my 10th year in a row of helping out. Real fun and it always feels good to give back and help kids have a good time and have a place that’s safe and fun.

I appreciate all of the prayers from all of you out there and ask for your continued support of prayers as I definitely need them.  You know it’s all about God getting the glory and when I post on here about finding a great job and thanking all of you for the prayers He will be glorified.  I know that it’s all about Him and Him working through me as well.

O Lord, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer – Psalm 17:1

2010 so far….

I’m not liking how this year and decade is starting off at all!!!!  We have ridiculous politicians in D.C., we have a horrible tragedy of a massive earthquake that has hit poor & impoverished Haiti and my family is having serious financial and job issues.  WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!    That’s all I can say right now.

So, what to do in this very tepid time?  PRAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Lord,

I petition you Father, humbly, to be with the people of Haiti in their time of need, I ask for salvation to come to their land and pray for a better future for the people of Haiti.  Lord, I lift up my family to you as well as other families who are dealing with job loss and financial uncertainty.  Lord, I also life up our government in the United States, that they would make better decisions and judgments for our future and for current times of policies that are before them now.  With your help Lord God Almighty, I ask these things to be granted by you.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“Let us fix our eyes on the Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith”  – Hebrews 12:2

A new Decade has begun just a couple days ago and an end of a Decade was left behind.  Remember the good and the bad of the last Decade and then think about how to make the bad a good for this Decade.  Most importantly, enjoy the present as it is a gift to you and me.  Let’s focus on Jesus and know that what He wants for us is only the best.  Read your Bible and see the way He wants you to go and the wonders He has in store for you.
