time flies

18,000 hits, 350 posts and I figure I’m doing well to be on this path of blogging.  I can’t believe how time flies when your blogging, it seems like just yesterday that I started doing this.  I have talked about my life and personal things I have been dealing with and about my faith in Jesus.

What’s important to me is to know that my life is not so interesting as to keep my audience captivated by my life as much as it is to speak about my faith and how more important that is than my life.  My life is short, but GOD and faith are everlasting.  I hope that you have been blessed in some way by what I have posted and I appreciate all your words of encouragement and your thoughts and views on my different posts as well.

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O God.

my trip

I just got back from a fabulous trip in California.  I had too much fun with my pops, my bro and the rest of my family and friends!  I saw some cousins and my 2 Aunts, Ghassana and Najah, whom I haven’t seen in 12+ years.  I missed them soo much and it was so great to see them and spend some really good quality time with them.  I also my some of the best arabic food in the entire world that my aunt Najah cooks.  She is soo good that she should open her own arabic restaurant…it’s that good.  She asked me what I wanted for dinner when I got there on Thursday and I told her, of course, it’s grape leaves.  NO ONE can make them as good or like how she does them, MAD DELICIOUS!!

I am silver elite on Continental and I got upgraded for FREE, to First Class.  That was WAYYY sweet!!  I have been in first class seating before, but it’s always nice to be there and get waited on and feel very comfortable for a few hours flying.

Anyway, I just got back in tonight and I’m extremely tired, but I must wash some clothes and order things up cuz I’m a neat and clean freak like that.

I love California, my original home!

Good Night!

new year’s resolution’s

Okay, for one, I’m NOT a New Year’s Resolution person.  I think that what I do today or now should continue on with me for my entire life, not just in the first few months at the beginning of a New Year.  I am talking about things like…working out, eating right & staying in touch with family and friends.  Those things I don’t think should be a part of yearly resolution’s, but I do know that they are.

So, I think that things like, making a job change or getting rid of bad habits or making more friends would be in order of NYR’s.

On that note, let’s make a concerted effort to be better people this year and TRY to do something good every single day this year.  What I mean by that is, for example, pick up some trash on your way walking somewhere or smile at someone that seems to be having a bad day or encouraging someone and saying something real nice and sweet other than how their makeup looks.

Let’s all have a great year and live it like it’s your last!

new year message

Richard Exley, author of Decent Exposure, writes about a minister who returned to his pulpit just ten days after his son’s suicide. Under emotional duress he read his text: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28) Then he said, “I cannot make my son’s death fit into this passage. It’s impossible for me to see how anything good can come out of it. Yet I realize that I only see in part. I only know in part.”

He went on to liken it to the miracle of the shipyard. If you take any single part of an ocean-going vessel and throw it into the sea it will sink. Steel doesn’t float. But when the shipbuilders are finished and the last plate is riveted into place, the vessel becomes virtually unsinkable.

The pastor pointed out how, taken by itself, his son’s death was senseless. Thrown into the sea of Romans 8:28 it could only sink. However, he believed that when the Eternal Shipbuilder finally finished his work, this senseless tragedy would be redeemed.

That is the kind of TRUST we need to demonstrate as we enter a new year. By any secular point of view there is much cause for pessimism about 2009. But our outlook is not limited by temporal circumstances. While we are in the middle of a serious economic crisis, let’s rest assured that we have a great God who can make a ship out of any sinking life. I cannot tell you what the immediate future holds for you, but I know who holds your future in his hands. I hope you will TRUST him to keep your life afloat, no matter how turbulent the waters.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him.
Romans 15:13

back to work today

Back to work today after 2 weeks off.  Wow, how 2 weeks fly by huh?  I enjoyed the time off for sure, but isn’t it so human of us that we still want more time off?  I know I do!  If your reading this and haven’t had much time off, if at all, then your not sympathizing with me, understandable.  But, if you were off like me, then you understand my viewpoint.  This has been my longest time off in over 10+ years, so I deserve it, just a bit I think.

I spent plenty of time with family and friends and relaxed and watched a bunch of movies.  My brother came in from LA and we hung out together for a week from Friday to Friday, had lots of fun together too!  I rested all day yesterday in preparation for knowing I had to be back for today and I wanted to be ready for it.

So, the Motto for ’09 is “Looking fine in ’09” or  “All will be fine in ’09”  Choose one and love it!  🙂

Let’s hope for a positive and blessed year, whatever it may bring for you and me!  Look to the Mountaintops!
