Perfect?

Jesus said, He that is perfect, let him cast the first stone.  He that has not committed a sin.  He that is righteous alone and can stand on all of his life’s actions and say “I’m perfect, I’ve never sinned”

No one in the history of man can say that, except one man, that is Jesus Himself.  Outside of that man, everyone is guilty of sin in one form or fashion.  We have all had evil thoughts about what we wanted to do to someone, which happens to be a sin as well, to lying, cheating and cussing.  These are all sins.  Not to exclude adultery(in and outside the marriage), murder and taking God’s name in vain.

We are ALL guilty!  In a court of law, we are guilty as charged and should pay for those sins.  Hands down, end of story.  You nor I would have one leg to stand on in a court before God Himself.  We have all indulged in our own pleasures and are guilty for them.

Thank God that we are imperfect though, because if we thought we were perfect(yeah right!) then we would have no need for Jesus.  But the fact is, we DO need Jesus.  That’s because Jesus died on the cross for everyone’s sins, from time past until time ends.  He paid that penalty for all of our sins on the cross, some 2000 years ago on Golgotha mountain aka Calvary.

We should be grateful everyday for our salvation and for what Jesus has done for us.  Only one man could pay that price, Jesus, because He was perfect and only a perfect ‘lamb’ could pay that price.  One without blemish and sin.  See God can’t look upon sin.  The only way He can accept us into His Kingdom is through the washing away of our sins by the blood of Jesus’ sacrifice.  That’s the only way we can enter into eternity after this life with Him.  Not because of any righteous deed that we can or could ever do.  Scripture states that our best efforts are like filthy rags in light to what Christ has done for us on the cross, by paying that price for us.  The propitiation for our sins.

Let’s be grateful everyday that we can walk blameless in the sight of God Almighty, not because of what we have done or could ever do, but because of what Jesus has done for us already.

Thank you Jesus.  We love you Jesus with all our hearts, souls, strength and mind. Amen!
