a good word

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind and Love your neighbor as yourself”  Mark 12:30-31

Why is this a good word you ask?  Well, I’m glad you did ask.  🙂  I believe what Jesus himself spoke, and the words He spoke.  When He said these words above, He also said that all of the 10 commandments and all of the 613 total laws that were in the Old Testament were summed up in the statement above.  He also said that there is no commandment greater than these.

When Jesus Himself says something as powerful and matter of fact as this, you better pay attention.

In my daily life I find that the trenches is where the battle is.  The monotony of days that go by, is where were tested.  Are we sharing the love to others and loving God whole-heartily is the question.  The positive thing about this question is that even though we fail and not love our neighbor and even though we fail and not love God the way we ought to.   That God is constant, the same yesterday, today and forever.  He doesn’t change and neither does His love for us.  He will pick us back up and set our feet on solid ground again and give us another opportunity to love again.  He will continue to test us and try us and refine us like a foundry does.  Purification is this process, and even though it’s not fun, it creates a stronger you and me.

I encourage you today to continue to fight the good fight and keep your focus on Him, the author and perfecter of our faith.  The one who is able to do more than we can ever ask or imagine.
