On April 19th of 1998, I was baptised. That day officially marked my acceptance of Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. What a beautiful day that was for me as well. I don’t think I washed my hair for like 2 days after that(it wasn’t a dunking, like the Baptists do, but a sprinkling over the head, knelt down) The joy of this total conversion was awing for me. I was in such a ‘lost’ place for most of my life until that day. I had felt literal emptiness inside me for years. I had tried to fill it with ‘worldly’ things, but nothing seemed to satisfy the craving. After that day, though, I began a new life and a fresh start with Christ Jesus.
What’s amazing to me is that I will have walked now with Him for a decade. I can’t believe it! I’m really excited, you know. It’s like a real milestone for me. One of the things that really hit me was how fast time has passed since my conversion. 10 years doing anything for me is a milestone! :) I began so many new and great things that year as well. It seems that God does have a plan for me and for everyone. It’s just a matter of accepting what He has in store for you and receiving it with open arms, knowing that our Abba Father know what’s best. We just have to be obedient to Him and what He wants from us. To love mercy, act justly and walk humbly with our God. I know it seems harder than it reads, but it is true. Anytime I have done my own thing, it’s never been quite good. Whenever I do something that God would be proud of and say that was good, it seems to be blessed and have long-lasting positive effects. That’s been my experience in 10 short years of walking with the Lord.
”What a blessing it has been to walk with you Lord Jesus. I’m glad that you called me from out of the slimy pit and miry clay that I was in and set my feet upon your rock of solid ground and have established my ways. I’m grateful that you have called me into your Kingdom and I continuously give you praise for all that you are and do. Thank you Jesus for 10 years. I look forward to many more with you. Amen.”
