“My house shall be called the house of prayer”  Matthew 21:13

It’s important to keep praying all the time at any place.  You don’t have to be close eyed all the time or speak aloud either.  It should and can happen all the time at any place, anywhere!

I just found out that my best friend lost his job today.  He was a hard worker and gave so much of himself to the company.  Just to find out that your a casualty of the current economic downturn.  I pray he will find a job soon and I have prayed that for him several times since he told me just a short hour ago.  I also found out that another friend at their job is having mass lay-offs as well.  Crazy times we’re in.  I guess no one is ’safe’ from being layed-off.  I am thankful everyday for my job that God has given me and blessed me with.  I pray for all of you that have been layed-off and pray that you will find a job real soon, Lord willing.

Pray for those who have lost their job.

Blessings!

Thank you Father for be patient with us, your children, when we stray and when we forget about you in our daily lives.  Thank you that your always just one short prayer away from restoring us to you.  Thank you that you always hear our cries.  Thank you for YOU!

“Watch and Pray”  Mark 13:33

God does things in and around us everyday, do you see them?  Are you thankful for them?

Keep your eyes open and aware.

Let us be always thankful IN every circumstance, let’s watch and pray and see what He is up to in our lives and in the lives of others around us.

Blessings!

“Let your requests be made known unto God”  Philippians 4:6

For most of us, sometimes we feel that we are so sinful, that to ask Him for anything is not right, but it is.  He wants to know our hearts, thoughts and mind.  What is in those requests is what WE need to be careful with, God is not a Genie in a bottle.  But, He is there for us and what we ask should be in line with what He would want for us.  What we want isn’t always best anyway, but He sure can bless us in ways beyond what we can ask or imagine.

Blessings!

18,000 hits, 350 posts and I figure I’m doing well to be on this path of blogging.  I can’t believe how time flies when your blogging, it seems like just yesterday that I started doing this.  I have talked about my life and personal things I have been dealing with and about my faith in Jesus.

What’s important to me is to know that my life is not so interesting as to keep my audience captivated by my life as much as it is to speak about my faith and how more important that is than my life.  My life is short, but GOD and faith are everlasting.  I hope that you have been blessed in some way by what I have posted and I appreciate all your words of encouragement and your thoughts and views on my different posts as well.

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O God.

This was a must share in light of recent media coverage…

Did You Hear that Michael Jackson Died?

The 24/7 media coverage of the death of Michael Jackson really began to weigh on me. I must confess that I too watched some of it in morbid curiosity, intrigued by someone who would take 10 Xanax (anti-anxiety tranquilizers) every night, among other things, and had his own in-house anesthesiologist. I even had a LIFELINE written to unload my burden about our American idolatrous culture of celebrity. Then I let the Holy Spirit speak to me.  :-)

“What did you expect?” the Lord said to me. This same media, which was bringing us the wall-to-wall coverage, does not exist to speak into the lives of Christians, or to promote the agenda of the Kingdom of God. The majority do not know God, are hostile to anything He stands for, and would just as soon there be no Christians to stand in their way. When the media showed millions around the world mourning the death, and even worshipping one of their idols, it was because “That’s what they do”. What did you expect?

On the other hand, consider this…Every Sunday around the world,
2 billion Christians worship the Lord Jesus Christ. Some gather with hands lifted and voices raised, as they worship the Lord of Lords. Others are in prison for the sake of the Gospel. The media doesn’t show this. If they did, the world would hate it just like you became sickened with the coverage of a worldly idol. “It’s not what they do.”

There are some things we need to learn from all of this.

1) Perhaps the sinful part of the entertainment industry wouldn’t survive if Christians would quit entertaining themselves with it and supporting it with their money.

2) Identifying with a celebrity and conforming to them is a substitution for what we are supposed to do with Christ Jesus. He died for us that we might live in this world with His resurrection life. No celebrity cares that you are their biggest fan.

Now back to Michael Jackson and the others…
Don’t be surprised when the world acts like the world. Neither let it discourage you. Most of what happens in the Kingdom of God is hidden anyway, waiting to be revealed when He appears! Press on!

John 15:18  “If the world hates you, you know that it has
hated Me before it hated you. 19 “If you were of the world,
the world would love its own; but because you are not of
the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this
the world hates you.
