I have had it installed for about a month now, but haven’t tried to blog anything yet. I guess I will try it soon and see how it looks/works. Here’s to blogging EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!
love languages

I wanted to share a great book with you. It’s called the 5 love languages. The book is a short and great read. There is also a video series that can accompany it as well. Basically, there are 5 love languages that everyone of us have. This book dives into those languages and helps you understand…YOU!
What better way to find out more about yourself and your love language. The different languages are: Quality Time, Physical touch, Gifts, Acts of service and Words of affirmation. There is a test to find out what you are as well. You typically have a top 2 and then it drops off from there. My 2 are PT and Acts of service–go figure.
The way we love is the way we express love.
Blessings!
wednesday devotional
March 25, 2009 at 1:19 pm | In devotions | Leave a CommentTags: emmaus, christian, goodness, wednesday devotional, philippians 2:12, God's direction
I wrote this little diddy for my men’s gathering today:
“-Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose.” Philippians 2:12, 13
I wanted to share a positive message today about God and His powerful Word. I want to talk about His goodness that reigns over all our lives. His goodness that surpasses all understanding. His goodness that works in us to good things all over the world in every Christian around the world.
What type of things does God have us do that is good and that furthers His kingdom on earth?
I think about how often I fail to do the good I know I should do. I also think about the good opportunities that I miss. Encouragement is, there will be more opportunities.
I was asked to serve on an Emmaus Team that was to be held in January of this year. I was going through some hard times personally in December and had to call the Lay Director and tell him that I had to decline my position on the team. The walk didn’t make and the LD was asked to serve on the men’s walk in April instead. I wasn’t asked initially to serve on that team, but last night I got a call from Robert Kent, the LD, and he asked me to be the Head Chapel position. I was going to be the inside Table Leader, but God had better plans and I am going to be Head Chapel Servant. I find that this position is where He wants me to be in proportion to where my life is now. I want to iterate the aspect of how God will bring you another opportunity even when you think you don’t deserve it or think that He has forgotten about you…HE HASN’T!!! He will pick you up and give you another chance and opportunity and enable you to still do the good for His purpose!
I believe one of many thoughts and views on working out your salvation is knowing that you will make mistakes and continue to learn in life what it means to be a Christian believer. How hard it is to be a believer, but knowing that He will never leave us or forsake us.
Where have you found God directing you to do good in your life? In your family, community, world?

For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield. Psalm 5:12
The favor of God surrounds me and precedes me.
He who seeks good finds goodwill,
but evil comes to him who searches for it. Proverbs 11:27
The favor of God surrounds me and precedes me.
A good man obtains favor from the LORD,
but the LORD condemns a crafty man. Proverbs 12:2
The favor of God surrounds me and precedes me. Amen.
Emmaus

I was honored to be asked to serve on another Men’s Emmaus Team in April. I am going to be the Head Chapel Servant. I have never done that position before. Basically, I spend my entire weekend praying for the walk. What an honor it is to not only serve, but to be called to be in prayer all weekend. I find that is perfectly what I need to be doing in my life right now. Spending time with my Abba Father. I look forward to the weekend and what new things God will reveal to me during that weekend as well.
If you haven’t served before, I would say that you should turn in an application to your local Emmaus community and get involved! You will always get back more than you ever put in when you say YES to God!
Blessings!
who’s glory?
March 18, 2009 at 12:16 pm | In faith | 1 CommentTags: Glory, God, Honor, Mercy, praise, Psalm 50:15
Reading a devotional today from ‘Experiencing God’ for March 18th, I found it very intriguing. The scripture is from Psalm 50:15, “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”
What beautiful and eloquent words those are and how encouraging are those words as well. The summation of the devotional is that in times of trouble we should always turn to our Father in Heaven. When we don’t we take away His glory and thus give ourselves the honor and one of the seven deadly sins enters into the picture–Pride.
I want to always glorify my Father in Heaven and give Him the praise, honor and glory He deserves only.
Having said that, I do fall short and fail as well, but the great thing is God is always there to pick us back up!
His mercies are new everyday, regardless of the stupid, dumb and bad things we do. He loves us anyway and wants to help us make the right decisions and guide us in the right paths, for His name’s sake.
Therefore, in times of trouble, and at all times, let’s call upon Him and His holy name to help us, bless us, protect us, guide us and direct us in all things.
Blessings!

I didn’t realize that originally BLUE was the color that people used in celebration of this day, but now it’s green due to the Shamrock and it’s color. Crazy that we could have all been wearing blue today instead of Green. BTW are you wearing your green today??

life after death
March 12, 2009 at 9:35 am | In LIFE | Leave a CommentTags: comfort, death, earth, fame, happy, heart, introspective, john 3:16, LIFE, love, money, power, recession, riches, short, unemployment
I was reading a news feed just now about an owner of a big clothing line that was killed in a car crash early this am driving his Ferrari. It saddened me because I was thinking about him and how he had all the money in the world and had hopes and dreams and other aspirations and many long years to still live.
I then thought about what really counts in life. Is it money, riches, fame, power that we all seek? In a recession time that we’re in, people losing their jobs and even their minds during this tough time. What really matters/counts? Is it having a good job? Is it avoiding unemployment? Is it paying your bills and having a nice 3 months of savings put away for a rainy day? What is it that matters/counts? Is it having a happy love life, a healthy and happy marriage? Being filled up with what this world has to offer? Why is it that I find myself wanting the best of every world?? Is it my humanity that makes me feel this way? That I urge to be comfortable in every facet of my life? Life perplexes me because I think about life, how we’re here on earth for such a short time compared to the breadth of history. I look in the mirror and see an older me. I realize that life is short. I begin to think about what do I want to accomplish in life before I die.
I lye awake at night thinking more and more these days. I find myself having sleep apnea because of my many thoughts. I guess I am very introspective today and need to write my feelings and thoughts down as the story I read really hit my heart.
I wonder when my time is up and where I will be when that happens. Life is so finite. To be so bold and arrogant as to not think of there being any higher power outside of man is ridiculous in my humble opinion. To think that something exploded into such beauty is preposterous.
To know that there is a living God and a son that paid the ultimate price for ME & YOU gives me hope that there is life after death.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.
